Pruitt Igoe Now Exhibition Opening

We host the first exhibition presenting the winner and 31 finalists in Pruitt Igoe Now, an ideas competition that examined the future of the 33-acre forested vacant site of the former housing project.  The program includes remarks from Bob Hansman, Associate Professor of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis and a competition juror, artist and cultural activist Juan William Chavez and Michael Allen, Director of the Preservation Research Office.  Competition manager, Nora Wendl, Assistant Professor of Architecture at Portland State University and finalists in the competition will be there.  The opening is from 6pm to 9pm followed by an after party at Northside Workshop, 1306 St. Louis Ave, that will include music, refreshments and tours of the near north side's newest art space.  Consult for more info.

The exhibit will hang through August 31, 2012.  Gallery hours are 9-5 Monday-Friday or by appointment.
