Bank of America Honors ONSL
“Local Hero” Johnnie Owens
Last month Bank of America presented “Local Hero” awards to five individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in St. Louis area community development as volunteers. ONSL’s very own Johnnie Owens was recognized as one of these Local Heroes because of her work as ONSLRG’s board vice president, her countless hours tending the Hebert Community Garden, her contributions of time to her grandchildren’s school, and her coordination of her church’s food pantry. Congratulations to Johnnie and thank you to Bank of America for highlighting the fact that genuine community building starts with a foundation of dedicated community leadership.

Johnnie was able to select a non-profit of her choice to receive the contribution from the bank in honor of her award. At the far right is Patricia Mercurio, President, Bank of America Missouri.
