Podcast on 14th Street Mall

MayorSlay.com currently features a podcast about the history and future of the 14th Street Mall. Click on this link – 14th Street Mall Podcast – to listen to the story.

On the subject of the 14th Street Mall – Do you have any photos of the mall or the street from 10, 15, 50 years ago? We are collecting as many pictures of the evolving streetscape over the years, especially of any of the buildings along 14th Street from the south side of Warren up to Wright Street. If you have any photos that we can copy or put on display in our Community History Museum, give us a call at 314-241-5031, or send an email to info@onsl.org. The photo above is of the building at 2601 N. 14th in 1875. The original source is unknown, but we found it published in a special insert in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on March 20, 1977, announcing the “Grand Opening” of the “North 14th Street Open Air Mall.”
